An audio response to Jonny’s first point about the paradigm shift. Jonny mentioned about the redundancy of the projectionist, but I’d argue whether this actually makes it any more affordable to go digital to both cinema owners and cinema goers.
I was absolutely gutted to learn late last year that the Giant Screen at Millennium Point in Birmingham was closing down. I loved the experience and the affordability to watch films in 4K. However, the cost to run and keep up with the technology took its toll on this cinema and it has met its demise.
